TURN ON ANNOTATIONS
A RPG (Role Playing Game), this is the second generation of the Pokémon franchise which includes Gold, Silver, and Emerald. Players are able to play the new Johto region along with the previous Kanto region after beating the Elite 4 for the first time.
The second generation of Pokémon video games began in 2000 with the release of Pokémon Gold and Silver for Game Boy Color. Like the previous generation, an enhanced remake titled Pokémon Crystal was later released. It introduced 100 new species of Pokémon (starting with Chikorita and ending with Celebi), for a total of 251 Pokémon to collect, train, and battle. New gameplay features include a day-and-night system (reflecting the time of the day in the real world) which influences events in the game; full use of the Game Boy Color’s color palette; an improved interface and upgraded inventory system; better balance in the collection of Pokémon and their moves, statistics and equippable items (a new addition); Pokémon breeding; a new region named Johto and the ability to select the protagonist’s gender. Unique to the second generation games is the fact that, after exploring Johto, the player can enter and explore the original Kanto region, which lies to the east of Johto.
As of May 8th, 2009 a 10th anniversary remake of Gold, Silver, and Crystal will be released as Heart Gold and Soul Silver. It will be released in Japan late 2009 and the rest in 2010.
This video will show what is played when the main character is inside the Indigo Plateau (セキエイこうげん Sekiei Plateau) battling the Champion Lance.
They are four Pokémon Trainers who are regarded as the toughest in their regional Pokémon League, short of League Champion. Those who challenge the Elite Four must have achieved all eight Badges from that region and face all four and the current Champion consecutively without losing to any of them.
One group resides on Indigo Plateau in Kanto, and are considered the best trainers in both Kanto and Johto, consisting of:
Will
イツキ Itsuki Psychic
Koga
キョウ Kyō Poison
Bruno
シバ Shiba Fighting
Karen
カリン Karin Dark
Champion Lance
ワタル Wataru Dragon
Motto :
“INDIGO PLATEAU
The highest Pokémon authority!
The ultimate Goal of Trainers!”
It serves as the capital for the Pokémon League. It is the final destination for Pokémon Trainers competing in Indigo or Johto League competitions against the Elite Four. It is also the location of the Indigo Plateau Conference, Kanto Grand Festival and the Pokémon League Village.
The Indigo Plateau is located just north of Victory Road, and east of Mt. Silver.
In the games, the Indigo Plateau is depicted as a large building surrounded by mountainous areas. On the ground floor is a combined Poké Mart and Pokémon Center. In the upper levels are five separate battle arenas, one for each member of the Elite Four, and one additional for the reigning Champion. The Hall of Fame is located on the top floor, accessible only to Trainers who prove victorious against the Elite Four and their Champion. They must be fought consecutively, with breaks to the Pokémon Center prohibited.
He raises Dragon-type Pokémon, which are both hard to catch and raise, but he prefers the superiority of Dragon-type Pokémon, believing them to be virtually indestructible.
Known as a cool and heroic Trainer, Lance has a large fan-following. Lance also seems to have a liking for capes, as he is often seen buying identical capes at the Celadon Department Store.
Lance’s grandfather was the elder of a famous clan of Dragon masters. Clair is his cousin, and his hometown is Blackthorn City.
Lance appeared at Mahogany Town to help the player fight Team Rocket in Johto. Lance rewards the player with the Whirlpool HM for helping him put an end to Team Rocket’s sinister plans.
