Man, how big were Rachmanioff’s hands? I love the ending on how it just ends with all this stuff and last note is G. Great piece of music!

In regards to Rachmaninoff’s compositions, he was 6′6″ with hands in proportion; he was a performer (one of the best-loved) and so his works were difficult for anyone with average-sized hads.

why is it infamous? the third movement of the moonlight sonata is the most beautiful piece Beethoven ever wrote. and i believe flippingfo0l is referring to the first movement, which is easier than the third movement and some of other Beethoven works.

i didnt like the pp …
i didnt like the pp section with the bass scales when i first heard it. but now that i actually listen to the music instead of just skimming through it i can appreciate the melodies and the poetry of Rachmaninov. it feels like im in a dream world when i close my eyes and listen

This is Rach almost at his very best, the pennicle of his ability is not met in this though. A sure must in any real pianists repertoire.

This song is absolutely amazing. It was part of the soundtrack to an old Mac game I used to play. It really takes me back.

It is truly a fantastic specimen of classical piano composition.
